Arsenal have been trying to sign Kieran Tierney for some time now and reports last week had claimed that the Gunners could be close to signing the left-back.

The Gunners had seen the first bid of £15 million rejected by Celtic following which, Neil Lennon had issued a warning saying that Unai Emery’s side would have to pay the desired value if they wish to sign Kieran Tierney this summer.

Talking about Arsenal’s failed bid and the prospect of a second offer, the Celtic boss had said:

“Arsenal are aware of what we value the player at. He’s on a long-term contract, he’s an asset and we don’t want to sell him.

“It’s going to have to take a lot more than what they’ve offered the first time around to give us a decision to make.

“I’ve had a chat with him as it can be a difficult decision and bit unsettling. I’ve been there myself so it’s important that we support him regardless of the outcome.”

After this, there were reports that Arsenal have made another bid of around £20-22 million and they are also ready to send Carl Jenkinson on loan to Celtic for the 2019-20 season.

So naturally, after this, everyone was certain that Neil Lennon would give the green signal to send Kieran Tierney to the Premier League this summer.

Now though it seems like the North London side have not made any progress in the transfer and still Celtic are holding onto their demands for releasing Kieran Tierney.

In an interview, Bhoys manager Neil Lennon said(as reported): “I spoke to Kieran in Austria and to be honest I haven’t really seen much of him because he came back early for rehab, so has not been on the training ground as yet.

“It can be an unsettling period for any player and that is understandable but until a club comes up with any sort of realistic valuation of the player we don’t have to do anything and we won’t.

“It’s as you were. Kieran is getting on with his rehabilitation and we are getting on with what we have to do here.”
