Kyle Lafferty to Rangers

Rangers FC lost the first Old Firm Derby of the new season where Celtic beat Steven Gerrard’s side 1-0 at Parkhead.

The loss has forced the Light Blues back to reality and now the fans know that their team have a long way to go before they can catch up with their Old Firm rivals.

Rangers had signed 14 players during the summer transfer window and after the defeat, the club brought in their 15th player in the form of centre-back Gareth McAuley.

And after joining the Ibrox outfit, the 38-year-old revealed that he has been a Rangers fan since childhood.

Gareth McAuley shared a young picture of himself in which he has been wrapped with a Rangers blanket.

But after the picture was posted on social media the latest Rangers signing was subject to some banter from former Celtic man Darren O’Dea.

O’Dea tried to mock McAuley but Kyle Lafferty who also rejoined the Gers during the summer came to his rescue.

Lafferty in a bid to bring down Dareen O’Dea commented that O’Dea was secret Rangers fan and also asked the former Celtic defender to become a mascot for the Light Blues.

Just when everyone thought that Kyle Lafferty had won the battle on social media, Darren O’Dea came up with a stinging response which is sure to hurt the striker as well as all the Rangers fans.

Darren O’Dea was obviously referring to the unavailability of the Rangers merchandise after the club has been tied in a battle with their sports merchandise company.

But keeping all the banter aside, Rangers will have to do a lot of hard work if they wish to catch up with Celtic who are second on the league table while Gerrard’s men sit in the seventh spot with just five points.

After returning from the International break, Rangers will take on Dundee in the Scottish Premiership after which they play their first game in the Europa League against Villareal.
