MCFC is ready to offer defender Kyle Walker a new two-year deal at the club, as per The Telegraph but there’s still a chance he will join Bayern Munich this summer.

The England international’s contract with Manchester City expires in June 2024 and this season has been a roller coaster for him. He’s been in and out of the starting XI but in the end, the 33-year-old seems to have convinced Pep Guardiola enough that he is now being offered a new deal.

However, this isn’t as straightforward as we think because according to Fabrizio Romano, Kyle Walker is very much tempted by Bayern’s offer which is why he’s yet to decide on his future plans.

The transfer expert has recently said: Manchester City are insisting to extend Kyle Walker’s contract as negotiations over new deal continue.

“Bayern are still pushing and tempting Walker, waiting for final decision in the next days. Sources feel next week could be crucial.”

If reports from Germany are to be believed then Bayern Munich has sorted out all the contractual hurdles and they are offering €15m plus add-ons for Kyle Walker. Now, the only thing they are waiting for is the full-back to make up his mind.

Will Kyle Walker snub the new Man City contract and head to Germany?

Bayern has decided against signing Joao Cancelo on a permanent deal but they still need to sign a new right-back which is why they are so keen to land the Manchester City man.

The right-back has been in and out of City’s team but he is still very much the first-choice in the England national team and even at 33, Walker has not lost a lot of pace. His current market value is €13 million so at €16-18 million, he will be a logical and fair transfer for both the clubs.

MCFC might have offered him a new contract but there’s no guarantee he will be the first-choice right-back next season and this will be a point of concern for Kyle Walker. City has signed youngsters Issa Kaboré and Yan Couto both of whom are right-backs and this is a clear indication that Pep is preparing for life without Cancelo and Walker.

Kyle Walker has won everything there is to win in the English circuit with Man City so he will want a new challenge and much like City, he will be guaranteed trophies at Bayern Munich as well.

Pep Guardiola has made it clear that his players are allowed to explore various options if they wish to leave in the summer and with no game-time guarantees, we have a feeling Kyle Walker is going to opt for a move to Germany instead of signing the new two-year deal with the Cityzens.
