Is this 22 Y/O PSG forward set to join a Premier League club before deadline day?

PSG Kylian Mbappe

Kylian Mbappe has been tipped to move out of PSG in the coming days and while Real Madrid remain interested, RMC Sport are claiming that an English club has shown concrete interest in him.

Yes, as shocking as it may seem, the report suggests that Madrid are yet to make any sort of formal move for the World Cup winner but on the other hand, an English club have made approaches.

The report claims, as translated: “One week before the end of the transfer window, negotiations are still stumbling over the extension of Kylian Mbappé.

“The latest proposal made by PSG to the 22-year-old striker provides for a new contract of 5 years + 1 optional year, with an increased salary.

“Mbappé did not follow up on this proposal and let it be known to Leonardo, the Parisian sports director, with whom he was in trouble.

“In the meantime, Paris has received no Spanish approach. Only one club has come forward in the last few weeks and it is English.”

Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid or the Premier League?

Real Madrid are obviously the frontrunners in signing Kylian Mbappe but if this new development is true then the La Liga side have much to worry about.

Liverpool and Manchester United have been linked with the forward in the past while Manchester City are currently on the hunt for a new centre-forward. So any three of these clubs can fit the description.

Manchester United might be looking at Mbappe as the long-term replacement for Anthony Martial but since they have already spent money on Varane and Sancho we don’t think they will be ready to spend so much money on Mbappe right now.

Liverpool can also do with an upgrade but the club have been spending very timidly over the past three transfer windows so they are not likely to go after someone who is valued at £144 million.

Manchester City are chasing Harry Kane and should they miss out on the Spurs forward, there’s every chance Pep Guardiola could sanction a move for Kylian Mbappe.

As things stand, should cost less than Harry Kane since he has only one year left on his contract and given that City are ready to pay £125 million for the Spurs forward, they should be able to afford the PSG superstar as well.

Ideally, Kylian Mbappe would prefer joining Real Madrid if he leaves PSG this summer but if the Los Blancos are not taking big strides towards him then he can very well consider moving to the Premier League.
