West Ham United recently signed attacking midfielder Felipe Anderson from Lazio for a fee of a reported transfer fee of £36 million.

And it seems that the Hammers’ acquisition of the 25-year-old has set in motion a disruptive chain of events.

According to reports in the La Gazzetta Dello Sport, Lazio are looking at Arsenal winger Alex Iwobi as a long-term replacement for the departed Felipe Anderson.

Iwobi who is just 22 years old is already a regular in the Gunners’ first eleven and it is being believed that he is one of those few players from the current lot who are immune from new manager Unai Emery’s transfer policy.

But what is Lazio make an offer that the London outfit cannot be refused.

Lazio have bagged a handsome £36 odd million by selling Anderson to West Ham United but instead of sitting pretty on the profits, the Serie A club want to use that money to bring in an apt replacement for the Brazilian.

Alex Iwobi plays in the similar position to that of Felipe Anderson and has spent most of his senior Arsenal career in and around the left wing.

It is not yet known what Arsenal’s stance is about selling Alex Iwobi but it certainly looks like West Ham United signing Felipe Anderson has not been a good thing for Unai Emery’s side.

As the report, Alex Iwobi is not the only player on Lazio’s radar as the Italian outfit are weighing in a number of options who can replace Felipe Anderson. But amongst all these players, Arsenal’s Alex Iwobi ranks the highest.

There is no concrete news as to how much Lazio are willing to offer for the services of the winger but it seems like a bid in and around the 20-25 million euros should be enough to seal the deal.
