Premier League sides Leeds United and Wolves are seemingly interested in signing QPR defender Rob Dickie, according to Football Insider.

The report claims: “Leeds United and Wolves are locked in a late-window battle for QPR defender Rob Dickie, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.

“A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Leeds and Wolves are closely monitoring Dickie’s situation in the final fortnight of the window.

“They are weighing up moves, as are Newcastle United, whose interest was revealed by this site in May.”

With only a couple of days left for the transfer window to shut down both Leeds United and Wolves seem to be in a hurry to land a new central defender.

After the 5-1 loss to Manchester United, it’s only logical that Leeds United go out and shop for a new centre-back. With Nuno leaving, Wolves are also looking to revamp the defensive areas before deadline day.

The 25-year-old joined QPR just last summer from Oxford United and his contract does not expire until 2024 which is why his manager had recently claimed that it won’t be easy to prize him out this summer.

“Rob has more than justified his fee,” Warburton said, as quoted.

“It’s amazing, as a coach, an owner or a director of football, you read some of these stories about our players being linked with other clubs but the fees listed are nowhere near good enough.

“Rob was a good investment for us. A young centre-half who is getting better and I think he will get better throughout this season.

“I have no doubt he will benefit from the types of games we had at Hull where we had to stand up, show character, quality on the ball and defend our goal.

“I think that type of game for Rob Dickie and all the young players is a great learning curve and he is in a good place right now.”

Since Rob Dickie has three more years left on his current deal Leeds United and Wolves might have to pay an inflated fee to sign him but it’s the Premier League we are talking about.

Any player would love to play in the English top division and if Leeds United and Wolves are serious about signing him then it will be really hard for QPR to stop a sale.
