Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is a big fan of Chelsea’s Levi Colwill but a transfer to Anfield in January is looking extremely difficult, claims TEAMtalk.

Levi Colwill is a product of the Blues academy and this has been the breakout season for the centre-back. Since August, he’s played in 20 Premier League games for Chelsea, out of which 18 have been starts in the middle of defence.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is eager to sign the 20-year-old during the ongoing transfer window but Pochettino is reluctant to cash in on the youngster.

Not only do Chelsea not wish to sell Levi Colwill but according to journalist Ben Jacobs, the defender is also happy with life at Stamford Bridge and he does not wish to leave any time soon.

“I think Chelsea are in control of the situation,” Jacobs has told GiveMeSport. “Chelsea are not thinking about selling Colwill. Colwill is not thinking about leaving Chelsea.

“And it’s only the fact that Liverpool see a longer-term window of opportunity that if it doesn’t work out at Chelsea, if Chelsea don’t get European football continually, the project doesn’t work, if the player wants to play in a different position, of course, you’re going to try and maximise that sort of situation that is purely hypothetical at this point. So I would say Liverpool will keep across the situation in the long run because their interest hasn’t gone away.”

As per Jacobs, Liverpool will continue to monitor Colwill’s situation but right now, this rejection from Chelsea is a big blow for Jurgen Klopp. The Anfield outfit is currently under a major injury crisis with the likes of Joel Matip, Tsimikas, Andy Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold all out injured at the moment.

Liverpool are reportedly eyeing a move for Real Madrid defender Antonio Rudiger who is yet to receive a new contract at the club. Rudiger wants an extension but talks are yet to start which is why Liverpool will try and make a formal offer to see if Ancelotti will let him go this month.

Rudiger is a top defender but it’s highly unlikely that the Premier League side will even come close to landing the ex-Chelsea man. Like Pochettino, Ancelotti is also without key defenders like Militao and David Alaba which is why he won’t green-light Rudiger’s exit, not at least until the end of this season.
