Lionel Messi and Edinson Cavani both got into a tussle where the PSG star reportedly offered to fight the Barcelona magician.

Both the two players faced off against each other during Argentina’s clash vs Uruguay in Tel Aviv earlier this week and both these players happened to find the back of the net.

Edinson Cavani opened the scoring in the 34th minute but it was Aguero who brought Argentina back on level terms only for Luis Suarez to send them behind once again.

But then up stepped Lionel Messi who helped his side secure a draw by converting from the penalty spot to end the match at 2-2.

Despite this match being a friendly, sparks flew between the forward and Lionel Messi and as per reports the two got into a bit of a quarrel inside the tunnel.

Sports Mole reported: “According to Ole, the PSG striker was seen offering a fight to Messi, who in turn told Cavani that they could fight “whenever you want”.”

And these comments from Cavani have put his in the eye of the storm and he has had to face the wrath of the Messi fans especially on social media.

Now that when the whole world was waiting to hear what Lionel Messi had to say about the whole incident, the PSG man has himself come out to explain his statement by making it clear that he doesn’t want an actual fistfight with the Argentinian superstar.

“It’s part of football, Clasicos are like this,” Cavani told TyC Sports[as quoted].

“The truth is that it was at times a game that had friction, there were challenges and things that are part of football, especially of South American [football].

“We take positives from our performance and the fact that we were able to score two goals. We still need to improve but it’s good to end the year like this.”

So now that everything’s sorted both the players return back to their respective clubs and focus on the season ahead.

PSG have an all-important game vs Lille in the Ligue 1 this weekend and immediately after that, they follow it up with a clash vs Real Madrid in the Champions League.

On the other hand, Lionel Messi takes his side to Leganes in the Spanish La Liga and then welcome Dortmund in the UCL.
