Liverpool beat Arsenal in the Carabao Cup last week and will now take on Dean Smith’s Aston Villa in the quarter-finals of the competition next month.

While the win vs the Gunners was a notable one but this has led to serious troubles with Jurgen Klopp even hinting that Liverpool might even pull out of the competition.

Well, you see, the Reds are scheduled to play Villa on the 17th or the 18th of December and on the very same day they are also expected to feature in the club World Cup at Qatar.

And this is not the only problem for the Anfield outfit since December, in general, is going to be a really tough month for them as they are expected to play eight fixtures – five in the Premier League, their final Champions League group match and two Club World Cup games.

Everyone was hoping that the Premier League would reschedule one game so that Liverpool could play both in the Carabao Cup as well as the Club World Cup.

Now though reports are claiming that the Premier League have refused to move Liverpool’s game in order to accommodate the Cup tie.

This will be a huge problem for the Merseyside club since there is every possibility that they might drop points in the league due to such an intense schedule.

And here’s how Liverpool can solve the problem(in case the situation does not change):

  1. Pull out of the Carabao Cup in which case Aston Villa will get a ‘bye’ and will move onto the next round.

2. Field two different teams – one who will play in the Carabao Cup and the other will play in the Club World Cup.
