Manchester United have been going through a rough patch ever since Sir Alex Ferguson stepped down from the manager’s chair. And during this very same time, Liverpool have seen a meteoric rise.
Liverpool had appointed Jurgen Klopp as their manager four years ago and during this time the Anfield outfit have played in two Champions League, winning one of those and have also come agonisingly close to ending their Premier League drought as well.
But Man United, on the other hand, have been trying to keep their Champions League status under various managers.
Last season, Liverpool missed out on the Premier League trophy by just a single point but some pundits feel that Jurgen Klopp’s men will be able to claw down that difference between them and Man City.
Gary Neville though does not have the same thoughts primarily due to the impact that a certain Mohamed Salah has made over the past two campaigns.
The former Man United full-back feels Mo Salah will likely leave Liverpool pretty soon and Man United will taste success before their arch-rivals.
He told Sky Sports(as reported): “They’ll [United] get a great manager, hopefully, that’s Ole [Gunnar Solskjaer], and they will start to win again,
“That’s going to happen. I can guarantee you as clear as day, Manchester United will win again.
“They will win again, no problem, they will win the league. They will probably win the league before Liverpool, in my opinion.
“And that’s not being disrespectful… they will probably win the league before Liverpool.
“I think they will win the league before Liverpool. They are closer than you think and it’s not as bad as you think, that’s always the way it is.
“And Liverpool… Salah’s going to leave in the next 12 months, I can see it already. Salah will leave, he will, I’ll absolutely guarantee you. I can see it, you can feel it, you can smell it…”
