City were slow to come off the block vs the Hammers but still, somehow they managed to score five goals past them with Raheem Sterling getting a hattrick.
But there were be no time to be sloppy this weekend when Spurs visit the Etihad Stadium on Saturday as Pep Guardiola is expected to name his strongest XI.

“Mendy came back two or three days ago. He tried to train with the team. Hopefully, next week he will be with us.” Guardiola said at the start of the month.
This means the back-line will remain unchanged with Zinchenko playing at left-back while Laporte and John Stones play at central defence.
Man City have also signed Joao Cancelo this summer but the player is not match-fit and might only find a place on the bench vs Spurs.
Rodri made a pretty impactful start vs West Ham United in central midfield and the summer signing should keep his place in the starting Xi while David Silva and Kevin De Bruyne play on either side of midfield.
Fernandinho is recovering from an injury and will not likely feature in the matchday squad on Saturday.
Raheem Sterling was in sensational form vs West Ham United and will most certainly keep his place when Man City welcome Spurs.
Leroy Sane has been ruled out with an ACL injury which he picked up during the pre-season which means Riyad Mahrez will keep his place down the right flank.
Gabriel Jesus might have scored the first goal for Man City in the new season but the Brazilian is expected to move back to the bench as he makes way for Sergio Aguero who came on as a substitute against West Ham United.
