Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Verona centre-back Marash Kumbulla at the end of the current season.

The Reds do have a formidable partnership in the form of Van Dijk and Joe Gomez but there have been reports that Jurgen Klopp is out looking for a new defender in order to strengthen his side for the upcoming campaign.

And one of the players which he’s looking at is 20-year-old defender Marash Kumbulla.

The youngster has come up through the ranks at Verona and this season the defender has caught the attention of many a people including Manchester United.

Yes, Manchester United have also been linked with Marash Kumbulla in the past couple of months and chances are that Ole might look to sign him up as a backup to Lindelof and Harry Maguire.

The Albanian international who is currently rated at £25 million which makes him a very lucrative option in the transfer market but if he’s really looking to head out then Liverpool might not be the right option.

As of now, Jurgen Klopp has a series of top-class defenders amongst his ranks so if Marash Kumbulla was to join the Anfield outfit then he would really have to fight for his place.

Apart from Man United and Liverpool, other big names like Borussia Dortmund have also been linked with the youngster but it remains to be seen if Verona is willing to part ways with him at the end of the current season since he still has two and a half years left in his current deal.
