Liverpool are breathing down the neck of Manchester City and Jurgen Klopp’s men are waiting for one slip up from the league leaders.

While that loss for City is yet to come but many believe the defending champions are bound to lose points during the Christmas period.

But Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson has claimed that his team are not too concerned about Manchester City’s results in the Premier League.

“We are not really interested in City, to be honest, because there is a long way to go,” he said.

“We know how good they are, we expect them to win.

“We just expect ourselves to win games and perform to the level that we have been – and if we do that we can keep winning. But we just focus on game by game and it doesn’t really matter about anybody else.

“The games are coming thick and fast, a lot of games in a short space of time but we showed we can use the squad and still perform to the level we know we are capable of and win games – and that’s a big plus for us.”

Manchester City and Liverpool are the only two clubs left in the league who are yet to lose a game but the Reds surely had a scare in midweek against Burnley.

Jurgen Klopp’s men ultimately won the match 3-1 thus maintaining their two-point gap with Manchester City at the top of the table.

And this week, the Anfield outfit might have a fine opportunity to move to the top of the table as Manchester City visit Stamford Bridge to take on Chelsea.

Chelsea are worthy opponents and many believe Sarri’s men can inflict City’s first defeat of the season.

While the Blues do have the firepower to cause problems to Pep Guardiola’s men but their confidence is not astounding after losing their midweek fixture to Wolves.
