Liverpool take on Chelsea in the Premier League and the Blues might be the last hope for Man City to take away some points from Jurgen Klopp’s men.

After the Chelsea game, Liverpool have a string of easy games right until the end of the season and if the Anfield outfit can manage to pick up all three points during the Sunday encounter, Klopp would know that the title is theirs to lose.

Liverpool news vs Chelsea:

Defence:

Dejan Lovren started in central defence alongside Van Dijk in the Champions League vs Porto and the Croatian is once again tipped to start vs Chelsea on Sunday after a fine display in midweek. This means the backline will remain unchanged with Lovren and Van Dijk playing in central defence while Alexander Arnold and Robertson play as the two full-backs vs the Blues.

Joe Gomez has finally returned back from a long injury lay-off but the central defender is still not quite match-fit which means he will only get a place on the bench.

Midfield:

Fabinho has been in superb form for Liverpool during the past couple of months and he will most certainly start in midfield alongside Naby Keita who scored the first goal for Liverpool vs Porto in midweek. Jordan Henderson has been a revelation ever since the England international has been given a more advanced role in midfield and we believe Jurgen Klopp will once again let the midfield play in that link role with the attacking third.

Klopp has claimed that Henderson’s new position has helped the team immensely which means Wijnaldum will once again be left out from the starting XI vs Chelsea on Sunday.

Attack:

Roberto Firmino scored Liverpool’s second goal vs Porto and while Sadio Mane and Mo Salah has hogged all the limelight this season, the Brazilian has gone about his business in a very timid fashion.

Klopp does have the option of Daniel Sturridge and Divock Origi but both these players will only come on if absolutely needed.

Mo Salah will operate down the right flank while Sadio Mane will occupy the left-hand side of the pitch. Xherdan Shaqiri will be back on the bench on Sunday and Klopp might just use him late in the second half either to rest one of his attackers or in case if he needs to inject a little more craft into the match.
