Liverpool kicked off their Champions League campaign with a 3-2 win over PSG thus reinstating the fact that Jurgen Klopp’s men are truly one of the major forces in Europe this season.

The Reds were clearly the underdogs going into the game especially when PSG had the likes of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe upfront.

But James Milner and co showed that resilience and perseverance can overcome any major obstacle.

Liverpool took a comfortable 2-0 lead within the 36th minute of the match courtesy of goals from Daniel Sturridge and a penalty from James Milner. But PSG fought back and equalised through Thomas Meunier and Kylian Mbappe.

And just when it seemed as if Thomas Tuchel’s side would walk away from Anfield with a much-deserved draw, it was Roberto Firmino who stepped up to the plate and scored the winner in the second half injury time.

It was truly a wonderful team performance from Jurgen Klopp’s men in which almost every player played his rightful part during the 90 minutes.

But if you are the experts at L’Equipe then surely you would have viewed the match with a totally different perspective.

L’Equipe is known for their harsh player ratings but the Liverpool player ratings vs PSG were a complete shocker for almost everyone who watched the game.

L’Equipe came up with some absurd ratings in which the highest rated player was Trent Alexander-Arnold who received an 8 out of 10.

Liverpool’s captain for the game Jordan Henderson was exceptional during the game but the publication thought the midfielder was worthy of only a 5 out of 10.

James Milner also suffered the same fate as he received a 6 out of 10 despite being a stand out performer during the match.

And the Liverpool player ratings vs PSG is not the first time that L’Equipe has come up with such weird player ratings.

Their ratings for the World Cup final was another weird judgement where N’Golo Kante received a mere 3 out of 10 despite having a more than decent game.

But these Liverpool player ratings vs PSG should not bother the fans too much since the Reds have picked up a win against a club who have been tipped to win the Champions League this season.
