Manchester City suffered a shock defeat this midweek after Rafa Benitez’s men picked all three points vs the defending champions.
City squandered a 1-0 lead as the Magpies fought back to win the match 2-1.
After this defeat, Liverpool had the golden opportunity to beat Leicester City and go seven points ahead at the top of the table.
Sadly though, Jurgen Klopp’s men failed to put some much-needed wind onto their sails.
Liverpool scored just three minutes into the game through Sadio Mane but Harry Maguire equalised on the stroke of half time.
Liverpool could have easily lost the match but the Anfield outfit managed to hold onto the draw meaning they are now just five points ahead of Man City.
And speaking after the game, former Man United defender Rio Ferdinand made a perfect analysis of the Liverpool game.
“The only slight worry I would have is I sense a nervousness and a team sitting there passing the buck at times,” Rio Ferdinand told BT Sport(as reported).
“That is something [Jurgen] Klopp will have to address. You don’t want to see nerves at this stage, this is early.”

“The crowd were nervous and it fed into the players. I think Klopp will address that in the coming days.”
Ever since Liverpool went on top of the league table, many pundits have claimed that their lack of experience at such stages might cost them the Premier League title.
And during the 1-1 draw vs Leicester, Rio Ferdinand saw that same inexperience in play.
The Reds looked fragile in every department and while many would claim that the poor performance might be down to all the injuries but even Jurgen Klopp would know that his players need some extra motivation in order to keep Man City at bay.
