Liverpool have suffered a major blow before their game against Huddersfield as Philippe Coutinho has been ruled out of the game due to an injury.

Liverpool play host to Huddersfield at Anfield on Saturday and Coutinho will miss this fixture due to an abductor strain which he suffered during training this week. Klopp is already without the services of Sadio Mane and Adam Lallana and this means that the German boss has a very thin attacking option at his disposal.

Mane is recovering from a hamstring injury while Lallana has a thigh strain and both of them are expected to be available at the end of next month.

The absence of Coutinho means that either Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain or Daniel Strrudige will take up the Brazilian’s place in the starting eleven. If Chamberlain is selected then it will most likely be a straight swap for Coutinho on the left flank, whereas if Sturridge is selected then Firmino will play on the flank while Sturridge will play as the striker.

Huddersfield town come into this match on the back of a strong win against Manchester United and David Wanger will feel confident that they can slay two giants within the span of a week. Liverpool, on the other hand, have won just two games out of their last ten matches and Jurgen Klopp desperately needs this win in order to bring his club’s title challenge back on track.
