Liverpool feel that they will be rendered helpless if Philippe Coutinho demands a move out of Anfield next summer. Coutinho tried very hard to get his dream move to Barcelona this summer but the Fenway Group(Liverpool’s owners) held onto him with all their grit. Now though there is an air of discomfort around Merseyside that Barcelona might come back for the Brazilian at the end of the season. And this time around the Reds might find it very hard to stop their star player from leaving.
This is why Jurgen Klopp is weighing in his potential options who can replace Philippe Coutinho and it looks as if he has set his eyes upon Julian Draxler. Draxler joined PSG in January of this year, but the winger has quickly fallen down the pecking order at the Parc des Princes. The 24-year-old has found it really difficult to cement a first-team place at the club and now the arrivals of Neymar and Mbappe has not helped his cause even one bit. PSG coach Unai Emery feels that he has no requirement of the German and is willing to offload him next summer.
And Liverpool are said to be monitoring this situation very closely. The Reds know that Coutinho heading to Camp Nou can be a reality and they are not ready to risk the transfer and end up finding a replacement for an absurd amount of money.
Draxler has had a really bad couple of months at Paris – managing to play only 24 games up until now. But this record does very little to bring down the fact that the German World Cup winner is a fine talent and can quite easily fit into Coutinho’s shoes at Liverpool.
