Liverpool losing to Arsenal has opened the doors for Man City and the Gunners to chase them down in the Premier League title race but the Reds will be looking to keep their noses in front by picking up a win against Burnley.

Burnley visit Anfield on Saturday and on paper this one will be a very easy three-pointer for Liverpool but Jurgen Klopp will be without some very important players which will make things really tricky.

The first big blow will be the absence of Ibrahima Konate who is going to serve his one-match ban following the red card he picked up against Arsenal.

Tsimikas is also recovering from a broken collarbone which will allow Robertson to come back into the side. Conor Bradley will however be back in contention and the youngster will be pushing Trent for a start this weekend.

Thiago has played in only one Premier League game this season and the midfielder has picked up yet another injury. While Jurgen Klopp has admitted that he is going to feature against this season the Spaniard’s time at Liverpool is very much over.

“We don’t know the extent[of the injury] yet. We have to wait there a little bit, but it’s not cool, of course,” Klopp told reporters on Friday.

“Yes [I expect him to play again this season], but we didn’t really think about that, in the moment we just treat the injury and get a full assessment done and knowing exactly where it came from.”

Apart from these, Joel Matip, Mohamed Salah, Stefan Bajcetic and Dominik Szoboszlai are also going to miss out.

With seven big-name players missing, Jurgen Klopp is already working with a very small squad but the manager has delivered even more bad news revealing that there has been a flu outbreak within the squad.

The Liverpool manager has said: “We have a few problems and have to wait.

“We are fighting with a little bit of a flu thing in the squad so we have to see who is in the end available, so that’s all not cool. But in the end we will have 11 players and we will go for it.”
