Liverpool take on Arsenal at Anfield in the Premier League in what will be the final game of 2018.

And before the game, it looks like one manager has already accepted defeat even before the match has kicked off.

The manager we are talking about is Unai Emery who has chosen to go a very different route in his pre-match press conference.

Yes, we all agree that a manager should always respect his fellow competitors but the way Unai Emery chose to praise Jurgen Klopp many are wondering whether Arsenal are going to let Liverpool just walk over then this weekend.

When the Arsenal boss was asked whether Liverpool would be able to emulate the Invincibles, Unai Emery said:

“They can do that because they are doing it at the moment,

“We played against Liverpool three years ago with Sevilla in the final of the Europa League and I look then, at this progress, in this process and they are a very good example.

“I am also looking, with the coaches also, at how we are now and with the difference in the table before those years and with us and with other teams.

“The progression with Liverpool is clear. Three years ago, they were out of the Champions League through the Premier League and through the Europa League, because they lost against us [at Sevilla].

“This progress is also one example for us, now, in our moment. But we need to be very, very demanding of ourselves to do this step quickly in our way. But we need also time, and sometimes the patience is very important for us.”

A number of Arsenal fans are furious with their manager and they are claiming that Unai Emery’s tone will cause a negative impact on his players who will take the pitch at Anfield already thinking that they have lost the game.
