Manchester United picked up yet another win in the Premier League this time beating Watford at home and Luke Shaw had yet another solid performance.

The left-back has not been able to shine at the club especially after the career threating injury which he picked up a couple of years ago, and this season, it seemed like he had fallen down the pecking order due to the emergence of young Brandon Williams.

Williams has been a solid performer for Man United this season and it was more or less certain that Luke Shaw was going to be shown the door sooner or later.

But instead of crumbling under pressure, the full-back has now upped his game and recently he has been brilliant even while playing in a three-man backline alongside.

So naturally, this new-found form has brought about new ambitions in the player with Luke Shaw claiming that he is looking to find a spot in England’s EURO campaign this year.

“Obviously the rest of the season is most importantly about Man United at the moment,” Shaw said via ESPN.

“We want to get into the top four and of course we’re still in competitions, so there’s still trophies to win.”

“I’d be lying if I [said I] hadn’t thought about it, but I’ve got to keep working hard, keep my head down and whatever happens happens.

“But, of course, it’s everyone’s dream to be involved in the Euros. I’m just going to keep my head down, keep working. At the end the day it’s not down to me, it’s of course down to Gareth and I’ll respect whatever he decides.

“It’s something good for the team that you know there’s competition in places. He’s an amazing talent and he’s still very young, he’s still learning of course. But the same as me, I’m still learning.

“But we’ve showed that we can also play together and I love to play with him. We played a couple of times now and we played well together.

“I’m learning what he does and, you know, he knows what I do, so it’s a good partnership to play in.

“We all love competition and we all love to push each other and I’ll help him as much as he can to develop into a great player that he can be.”

Brandon Williams very much remains the future at Manchester United but with his recent performances, Luke Shaw has clearly shown that the player is not ready to give up with a fight.
