Man City have won their last eight home matches against Arsenal in all competitions and they will be hoping to keep this run going when they welcome the Gunners in the Premier League on Sunday.

MCFC are just one point behind league leaders Arsenal so a win on Sunday could help them move up to the top spot. The outcome of this match has the potential to decide the fate of the EPL title race but this Mikel Arteta-led Arsenal side has been brilliant this season and they have the firepower to look Man City in the eye.

City will definitely be the favourites because they will be playing at home but Pep’s side does not have the best recent record against Arsenal. These two sides have met twice this season and the Gunners have come out on top on both occasions. Guardiola will be hoping things are different this around because a loss will push them four points off the top of the table.

Manchester City’s team news and injuries:

The Man City manager has confirmed that John Stones and Kyle Walker are both going to miss out after they picked up knocks while playing for England.

However, Ederson is doing much better and he should be fine to play on Sunday.

“Kyle’s [injury is] more tough than John’s but they will be out- I don’t know for how many games,” said Pep, in his pre-match press conference.

Manuel Akanji also picked up a knock during international duty but he should be fine. However, with Stones and Walker both set to miss out, the manager is likely to change his team’s shape.

Kevin De Bruyne withdrew from the Belgium national team because of a groin issue but he is fully fit alongside Jack Grealish who has also been training with the rest of the squad.

Grealish’s return will be positive news but the Man City boss will rely on Jeremy Doku and Phil Foden as his two wide players.

Guardiola has enough players to name a strong starting XI for Sunday but with so many injuries, the Man City manager is really short of quality backups.
