Man City have won the Premier League and the FA Cup so if they can beat Inter in the Champions League final this weekend then they will be able to secure a historic English treble.

Manchester City played their first-ever UCL final in 2021 but they ended up losing that match 1-0 to Chelsea. Just like the 2020/21 campaign, City are the overwhelming favourites to win this time around as well but Pep Guardiola has not been lucky in European competitions since he left Barcelona more than a decade ago.

Man City and Inter have faced each other twice in the past but both those games were club friendlies so this is the first time these two teams will go head-to-head in a competitive scenario.

It is very hard to see Manchester City losing on Saturday but Inter go into the final at the back of some pretty decent form. They have finished third in the Serie A and in their previous 12 matches, Simone Inzaghi’s side has suffered only a single defeat.

Manchester City’s team news and injuries:

Pep Guardiola has no injury concerns going into the Champions League final but right-back Kyle Walker missed Tuesday’s open training session and immediately there were concerns over his fitness.

Thankfully, these rumours were squashed immediately and news has emerged that Walker did not take part in training because he was rested.

Walker has gotten a lot of game time during the second half of the season and he is a definite starter in the UCL final.

Kyle Walker and Ruben Dias will hold onto their place in the side but Manuel Akanji could make way for Nathan Ake who’s much more suited as the left-sided centre-back.

Goalkeeper Ederson was rested at Wembley, allowing Ortega to start but the 29-year-old will come back into the side for the UCL final.

Apart from these two changes, we don’t think the Man City manager will make any unnecessary rotations to the starting lineup that played in the FA Cup final.

The starters are good enough to get the job done in the 90 minutes but if somehow the match stretches into extra time then Pep Guardiola has players like Phil Foden and Julian Alvarez who can come in as fresh legs.

The Nerrazurri are gearing up for an uphill battle but if they can somehow keep Haaland and De Bruyne quiet then they will have a great chance of causing an upset and beating Man City at the Atatürk Stadium in Istanbul.

Man City predicted line up vs Inter:

Predicted Starting line up(3-2-4-1): Ederson; Kyle Walker, Nathan Ake, Ruben Dias; Stones, Rodri; De Bruyne, Grealish, B. Silva, Gundogan; Haaland.
