Man City will take on RB Leipzig in the Champions League on Tuesday night and Guardiola’s side go into this group game having already secured a place in the knockout stages.

The MCFC manager won’t be too stressed about this tie but City have failed to win their last two matches so Guardiola will be hoping for an adequate response from his players. Even though they are undefeated in their last seven matches, their previous two outings have ended in draws against Chelsea and Liverpool respectively. However, given the injury woes for Leipzig, this one should be an easy win for the Premier League side.

Man City will face Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League next weekend so ideally, Guardiola will want to rest some of his important players but it will be very hard to do so with several important injuries.

Manchester City’s team news and injuries:

Nathan Ake started as the left-sided defender against Liverpool on Saturday but in midweek, Gvardiol should come back into the side.

John Stones’ injury is not as serious as initially thought and the England international should be fit enough to be named in the matchday squad. If he gets a start then Stones is going to replace Manuel Akanji in central midfield.

Mateo Kovacic is ruled out with a muscle injury but Nunes could be back in midweek. The summer signing however is not a favourite for Guardiola so even if he is fit, the midfielder won’t get a start against RB Leipzig.

Jeremy Doku ran riot against Liverpool out on the left wing but for this UCL tie, Jack Grealish is going to come into the starting line up while Foden occupies the right flank. Grealish missed the Liverpool game due to a vomiting bug but the England international will be fit to face Leipzig.

Kevin De Bruyne is not going to return before the second week of December and until then, Bernardo Silva and Julian Alvarez are playing as the two advanced midfielders.

Erling Haaland shook off his small knock which he had picked up during the international break and he is going to start up front in midweek as well. The Man City manager would love to rest Haaland and use Alvarez in the centre-forward’s role but with players like KDB and Mateo Kovacic out injured, Pep Guardiola won’t be able to make too many rotations.
