Man City have made another inexplicable start to their Premier League defence and they will be eager to keep this run going when they take on Wolves on Saturday. Currently, they have picked up maximum points and have a two-point lead at the top of the table.

Manchester City suffered their first loss of the campaign this week as they were knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Newcastle United. City will be looking to bounce back quickly by picking up a commanding win this weekend and given how poor Wolves have been recently, this one should be an easy win for the away side.

Wolves are without a win in their previous four matches and even though they are playing at home, we don’t see them putting up a fight against Pep Guardiola’s side.

The Man City boss is not working with a very big squad and next week they will take on RB Leipzig in the Champions League so Guardiola will have to be very careful in managing his players’ game time on Saturday.

MCFC team news and injuries:

Rodri remains suspended as he serves the second of his three-match ban but Kovacic is back to full fitness which is a big boost for the Man City manager.

In midweek, Kalvin Phillips got a rare start in midfield but he will move back to the bench as Kovacic and Matheus Nunes pair up in the middle of the pitch.

Ruben Dias, Ederson and Ruben Dias were all rested for the Carabao Cup so they will come back into the starting line-up while Ake and Gvardiol fight it out for the left-back position.

Bernardo Silva and Kevin de Bruyne are both ruled out with injuries which means Julian Alvarez will play in the No 10 role while Phil Foden operates on the right wing.

Jack Grealish played the full 90 minutes so the England international will mostly start on the bench. Grealish had an average game in midweek and because the Man City manager has Jérémy Doku, he will most likely not stress Grealish.

Haaland is the top goalscorer in the league with eight goals and he will come back into the first XI after sitting on the bench in the Newcastle game.
