Manchester United take on Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Saturday and right before this home game, the club has announced that Antony will be reporting back to training.

The Brazilian international has been out of the squad following personal disciplinary reasons but Man United have confirmed that Antony is cooperating with the authorities and will now return to training with the rest of the squad.

The official statement read: “Since allegations were first made in June, Antony has co-operated with police inquiries in both Brazil and the UK, and he continues to do so.

“As Antony’s employer, Manchester United has decided that he will resume training at Carrington, and be available for selection, while police inquiries proceed. This will be kept under review pending further developments in the case.

“As a club, we condemn acts of violence and abuse. We recognise the importance of safeguarding all those involved in this situation, and acknowledge the impact these allegations have on survivors of abuse.”

This is a big boost for Erik ten Hag because he does not have another top-quality right winger in his squad which is why he’s had to use the inexperienced Pellistri on that side of the pitch.

Antony will take some time to build up his fitness which means he will not be available for Saturday’s home game but the Brazilian should be in the matchday squad when Galatasaray come to town next Tuesday.

Pellistri has done a pretty decent job on the right-hand side but Ten Hag also has the option to use Bruno Fernandes in that wide role now that Mason Mount is back to full fitness.

How long will Lisandro Martinez be out for?

Everything is not great news for the Manchester United manager because defender Lisandro Martinez has suffered a setback in his recovery which means he will be out for some more time.

An update from the club has revealed: “Lisandro Martinez will be out of action for an extended period due to an aggravation of the foot injury he suffered in April.”

There are no confirmed reports yet but as per the rumours in the media, Martinez is expected to be out of action for around two months.

Thankfully, Varane is back in action so until Licha returns, Varane and Victor Lindelof are going to be the first-choice centre-back pairing for Man United.
