Man City player reveals why Arsenal should be worried about facing them at the Etihad this weekend

Arsenal suffered an enduring couple of weeks during the start of 2019 but the club seems to be back on track.

The Gunners picked up a 2-1 win over Cardiff City in midweek and now they travel to the Etihad in order to take on Manchester City in the Premier League.

Man City are the favourites to pick up three points in this high profile encounter but Unai Emery knows very well that this is the ideal situation to pick up a win vs the defending champions given they lost their midweek fixture to Newcastle United 2-1.

While the Gunners fans will be hoping that their team can inflict more pain to Man City but Aymeric Laporte clearly feels otherwise.

“Obviously it’s always disappointing when you lose because we were supposed to get closer to Liverpool and to our goal,” Laporte said.

“But obviously we need to learn and look forward, learn about our mistakes and think about the next games.

“There are still 14 games left, so we are going to fight until the end. We have a great team no matter what the result was, so I am not worried about the performance and the players we have in our squad.

“Hopefully we can improve and we can do better in the upcoming games.

“We had chances and we should have scored more goals[against Newcastle].

“We had more chances than them, but they were just more efficient than us, to sum up the game. They had very few chances and they scored, and we didn’t.”

Man City will need to pick up a win vs Arsenal at any cost or the gap between them and Liverpool could be up to eight points by the start of next week.
