Kevin De Bruyne was easily the best player for Manchester City during the past season and then the attacking midfielder went on to have a great World Cup with Belgium.

But the new season has not gone too well for the attacking midfielder after he was injured in training earlier this week and initial reports suggested that De Bruyne could be out of action for a lengthy time.

Initially, it was suggested that Kevin De Bruyne had suffered a knee injury and there were a possibility that he might have suffered a ligament damage.

As soon as this news broke, it created a frenzy among that Manchester City fans who were hoping that the injury was not too serious.

But Kevin De Bruyne’s agent has finally delivered an official statement on the player’s injury and speaking to Sportza he has claimed that the Belgium star has not suffered a torn ligament.

He has also gone on to add that Kevin De Bruyne suffered a similar injury back in 2016.

Talking to Sportza, Kevin’s agent said: “Just on training while he was free – it was not even in a duel – it is a sad accident.

“He says he feels the same as 2 years ago. It is about the same situation.

“It is unfortunate for him, the season starts and it is always fun to be there, but as long as the ligaments are not torn, we can continue to hope for a speedy recovery.”

Last time Kevin De Bruyne suffered a knee injury it too him somewhere around six to eight weeks to get back to full fitness and the Man City medical staff are hoping that the player will be available for action within that same time frame.

While Pep Guardiola would be relieved that his best player from last season will be back before the festive period but the manager also knows that he will have to face a host of top six clubs during the period when Kevin De Bruyne will be recovering from his injury.
