Man United beat Spurs in emphatic fashion on Wednesday night but now they must shift their focus to the Manchester Derby scheduled for the weekend.

The Red Devils were able to beat Spurs 2-1 but this game vs Pep Guardiola’s men will be a totally different ball game altogether since they will be playing away from home.

Man United have moved up to the sixth spot on the league table and are now just eight points off the top-four spot meaning if they beat City on Saturday then Solskjaer’s men will be within touching distance of the final Champions League spot.

But at the same time if the OT outfit were to beat Man City then it would mean Pep Guardiola’s men will fall out of the title race and possibly Liverpool will be crowned the Premier League champions.

Man United team news vs Man City:

Many feel, Ole will go for a change in formation during the weekend and play three at the back but we think the manager will keep it quite straight and simple much as he did in midweek vs Spurs.

This means Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire will play in central defence while Aaron Wan Bissaka plays as the right-back.

Ashley Young played as the left-back during the weekend as Luke Shaw started on the bench. But during the derby, we feel Shaw will move up the pecking order since Young cannot sustain the physical pressure of playing two games in a matter of four days at this age.

The return of Scott McTominay was a welcome boost for Solskjaer and the manager later admitted that the midfielder is undroppable at the moment meaning he is a guaranteed starter on Saturday.

Paul Pogba still has an outside chance of making himself available for the Manchester Derby but we don’t think the Frenchman can be fit in time to play meaning Fred will once again play in midfield alongside McTominay.

Jesse Lingard might not be getting goals or assists for Man United but the England international has surely won over Solskjaer will he hard work. The forward got a starting role vs Spurs in midweek and we believe the manager will use him in the same role on Saturday.

Marcus Rashford was the star of the show vs Jose Mourinho’s men and the forward will be one of the first names on the teamsheet against Manchester City alongside Daniel James.

Anthony Martial picked up an injury earlier this week which forced him to sit out the Spurs game and right now he’s certainly facing a race against time to make himself fit for the derby.

If Martial is not ready in time then once again Mason Greenwood will get the nod to start up front at the Etihad.
