Man United drew their eight-game of the current season, this time with a 0-0 scoreline against Wolves at Old Trafford on Saturday.

This draw means Manchester United have slipped to the sixth spot on the Premier League table with Sheffield United moving above them.

And while the Blades will take on Bournemouth next weekend, Man United go for a winter break and their next match will be on the 17th of February against Chelsea.

So speaking after the draw vs Wolves, the Man United manager was naturally asked if the winter break has come at the correct time for him and his players.

To which Solskjaer told reporters: “In the last two months, we’ve had nine games in December and nine in January.

“18 games in two months and some of these players have played almost every single minute. The attitude, character and fitness is perfect, but you get mentally tired, so this break will come in handy.

“Of course, Wolverhampton had a 10-day break before this game, so they had an advantage in that respect, but I thought our lads showed their character again.

“The next game [at Chelsea], whoever it’s against, you just look forward to it.

“Of course, we can’t think about anything but our own performances, improve, get some players back after the break hopefully, get our energy and just rest our heads a little bit now and be ready to fire.

“We’ve got midweek games every week. We hope to go far in Europe and the Emirates FA Cup, we don’t want it any different, but now we’ve got a few more players, players are coming back from injury and we’ve signed a couple, so I’m looking forward to it.”

After the break, the Chelsea game will be really crucial for Man United since if the Blues can manage to beat Ole’s men in that game then they will open up a big gap for the fourth spot and United’s hopes of getting back into the Champions League next campaign could well and truly be over.
