Man United managed to keep a rare clean sheet at home this weekend when they beat Norwich City 4-0 in the English Premier League.

The Red Devils have had a really mixed season so far under Solskjaer having already lost six matches in the league but still somehow they find themselves in the hunt for the top-four race.

After the win against the Canaries, Man United have maintained their fifth spot on the league table – five points behind Chelsea who are in fourth and that gap could further widen as the Old Trafford outfit take on Liverpool next weekend.

While Ole’s men have played some really fine football this season especially against the big names but uncannily they have really struggled to break down sides which like to sit deep and play with a defensive approach.

And according to Harry Maguire, inconsistency is currently the biggest deterrent for Man United in their quest to qualify for the Champions League.

“Our problem has been inconsistency,” he told reporters via MEN.

“We have played two good games and one bad game and it has not been good enough in terms of that.

“We are not getting carried away. It was a good performance, clean sheet, win but we have to go again on Wednesday and get another good result.

“Like I said, if we put a few wins together on the bounce we will have every chance (of a top-four finish).”

Man United take on Wolves in the FA Cup replay in midweek and then head to Anfield to take on Liverpool.

While no one really expects Manchester United to perform any miracles vs Jurgen Klopp’s men but they remain the only side who have managed to pick up points against Liverpool this season and till now that has been the only match where the Anfield outfit have dropped points.
