Everton beat Brighton 1-0 in the Premier League this past weekend and Carlo Ancelotti decided to make a number of changes to his first XI.

Yerri Mina dropped to the bench for that match meaning Michael Keane and Hogate were the two central defenders as Ancelotti chose to play with a conventional backline.

And next up the Toffees take on West Ham United away from home and there is a big debate as to which two defenders will get to play against the Hammers.

While some claim that Yerry Mina might have started falling down the pecking order but the Everton manager has been quick to clear the air saying that Mina will be playing in the next match and it could be Holgate who makes way.

The manager said: “It was just a rotation that I did just to keep Michael Keane involved,

“It was not a technical decision – Mina is going to play the next game and I am maybe going to rest Holgate.

“The three defenders all give to me the same confidence. Sometimes they will have to get used to the rotation.

“We are in a period at the moment where we play only once a week, so it is more difficult to rotate, but when we are going to play every three days then I am used to rotating players.”

Carlo Ancelotti has had to face the likes of Liverpool and Man City since taking charge of Everton but now things are starting to ease up a bit for the Italian.

West Ham also have a new manager and under David Moyes, they have made more than a decent start so it will be interesting to see as to which team comes out on top at the London Stadium.
