It looks like Manchester United are going to miss out on Sporting midfielder Bruno Fernandes.

The 24-year-old set up the Liga NOS on fire last season as he scored 32 goals and provided 18 assists in just 53 games for the club. And this summer a number of clubs have shown interest in signing him up.

The club have already made it clear that the right transfer bid will force them to offload Bruno Fernandes this summer and the player too had recently revealed that he has left the decision to the club authorities.

“I don’t care about the transfer market. I’ve talked about this a lot, I don’t need to talk anymore. I already said I would like to play in England,” Fernandes said.

“When the club decides [is when it will happen]. I’m not in charge.”

Sporting played Liverpool in a pre-season friendly this week where Bruno Fernandes scored and made one goal during the match. And speaking after the game, the Sporting manager admitted that the midfielder might not remain at the club beyond the summer.

Marcel Keizer said: “I can say about Bruno that he’s a very good player and he’s important for us.

“Of course everybody would like him to stay but we don’t know the situation at the moment. He is here but we don’t know what the future will bring, so we will have to wait.

“We know that clubs like him, so we have to see what’s going to happen.”

While Man United have been dubbed the favourites to sign Bruno Fernandes all throughout the summer but now Sky Sports are claiming that the Red Devils will most likely miss out on the signing.

The report suggests that while Man United have scouted Fernandes all throughout the summer but the midfielder is not one of their transfer priorities.

Sky Sports are generally reliable when it comes to transfer updates so there is a fair probability that Man United might not get their hands on Bruno Fernandes.

And if that happens then surely it will be a big miss for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
