Man United will host Man City in the Premier League on Wednesday and this will be perhaps the biggest test for Solskjaer’s men this season.

With Mourinho, many players were not at ease – or so it was claimed but now with the Portuguese gone, there’s no curtain to shield the players and their pathetic performances.

Against Everton, Man United went down 4-0 at Goodison Park in what was a new low for Solskjaer and also for superstars like Paul Pogba and co.

Not many people expect United to stand firm this Wednesday when Man City come to Old Trafford but before going into this match, all the players should be reminded that Roy Keane would be watching from close quarters.

Yes, the former Man United captain will be at the Sky Sports box alongside Joe Hart to cover the Manchester Derby and you can be more than sure that Keane will not hold back on his comments if the United players come up with a repeat telecast of the Everton game.

Roy Keane is not known to mince his words and in the past, the former midfielder has time and again criticised the likes of Paul Pogba.

So watch up, World Cup winner, the general will be watching.

But going into this game, Danny Mills believes that it is the management at fault for giving Solskjaer the permanent job before the end of the season.

“I don’t understand why they gave Ole Gunnar Solskjaer the job that soon,” said Mills.

“He was never, ever going to leave. If Barcelona, Real Madrid, PSG came in for him, he would have said ‘No, I’ll wait until the end of the season’.

“There was no rush to make that appointment. Suddenly, if they lose their next three or four games, then what happens?

“That is a disastrous run of form he’s been on and his record suddenly doesn’t look very good going into the summer, and trying to attract new signings.

“They can’t sack him surely, that is never going to happen, but do they have the right man for the job?”

The Man United fans have been patient with almost every manager who has come in after Sir Alex so clearly Solskjaer has time on his hands.

But it is the players who are in question right now and if Man United want to get back to competing with the best then a number of the deadwoods should be shown the door during the summer.
