Paul Pogba missed a penalty vs Wolves in the Premier League last Monday and the Frenchman has received a lot of hate since then.

While most of the criticism was constructive, some people chose to racially abuse the players on social media which has now spurred up a big controversy.

Man United have been swift to come out and condemn such hate claiming that they will take proper actions against the culprits.

The club’s official statement read(as reported by The Guardian): “Everyone at Manchester United is disgusted by the racial abuse aimed at Paul Pogba last night and we utterly condemn it. The individuals who expressed these views do not represent the values of our great club and it is encouraging to see the vast majority of our fans condemn this on social media also.

“Manchester United has zero-tolerance of any form of racism or discrimination and a long-standing commitment to campaigning against it through our #AllRedAllEqual initiative. We will work to identify the few involved in these incidents and take the strongest course of action available to us. We also encourage social media companies to take action in these cases.”

But some people have urged Man United to ban their players from social media in order to protect them from the hate and negativity.

And Solskjaer was asked this same question during his pre-match press conference vs Palace to which he had a pretty clear answer.

“Paul’s fine, Paul’s a strong character and it makes him stronger,” said Solskjaer(as reported).

“When you speak to him he’s fine and I just cannot believe we’re still here in 2019 talking about these instances.

“Social media is a place where people can hide behind fake identities, it’s not down to me to change it but there are so many ‘Ole Gunnar Solskjaers’ on Twitter I know it’s not me and we’ve got to do something about it.

“The authorities have got to do something about it, you feel sorry for them (the abusers), they must have problems themselves.

“We need to protect individuals and protect people. When there’s death threats and racism, it’s serious allegations, serious incidents, sometimes you get annoyed.

“What can we do about it as Man United? We’re not going to ban our players on social media, we have to spread the good word, we can use it to spread good and have to stop those incidents.”
