4-2-3-1 Man United’s predicted line up vs Arsenal: Will Lingard be chosen ahead of Rashford?

Man United have hit rock bottom in terms of their confidence and performances and the 4-0 loss to Liverpool was the perfect illustration of that.

After this embarrassment, Man United head to the Emirates Stadium to take on Arsenal and there’s a chance that the Red Devils could suffer another humiliating on Saturday.

Arsenal have managed to come level on points with Spurs after beating Chelsea in midweek and this result will give Mikel Arteta’s side a hell lot of confidence.

Man United are easily at their worst since Sir Alex Ferguson left and with so many injuries to deal with, the OT outfit will be in for a tough time this weekend. They haven’t scored in their previous two away matches and haven’t managed to keep a clean sheet in their last seven outings. Sum up all this and after a really long time, Man United will go to the Emirates as the second-favourite team.

Man United team news vs Arsenal:

DEFENCE:

Harry Maguire was pathetically poor against Liverpool and this is the perfect time for Ralf Rangnick to send him a message by dropping him to the bench.

Varane will be returning from injury so the manager can afford to drop Maguire and use Lindelof as Varane’s partner but we don’t think Rangnick is going to use this option.

Luke Shaw is out for the rest of the season which means Alex Telles will come into the side after Dalot played on the left-hand side vs Liverpool.

MIDFIELD:

Paul Pogba picked up a muscle injury on Tuesday night so he is ruled out but thankfully, Scott McTominay has returned to full fitness.

The manager has admitted: “He pulled his calf muscle and, as it seems right now, this will not be an injury like the one Fred has which will be gone in one week. I fear he will not be available for Arsenal or Chelsea.”

With Pogba and Fred both out injured, the manager will have to use the pairing of Nemanja Matic and McTominay in central midfield.

Bruno Fernandes is one of the few Man United players who is still giving it his all so he will definitely keep his place in the side.

ATTACK:

Rashford played as the centre-forward in Ronaldo’s absence but Cristiano is expected to come back for the Arsenal vs Man United game so the England international will promptly make way.

Rashford was really poor against Liverpool but on the other hand, Jesse Lingard played with a lot of courage and determination after he came on for the injured Paul Pogba. We think Jesse Lingard should be given a start down the right flank even though the possibilities are that Anthony Elanga will play in that role with Jadon Sancho playing on the other flank.

Hannibal Mejbri got some minutes under his belt on Tuesday but he will start on the bench this time as well.

Man United predicted line up vs Arsenal:

Predicted Starting Line up(4-2-3-1): De Gea; Telles, Varane, Maguire/Lindelof, Dalot; McTominay, Nemanja Matic; Bruno Fernandes, Jadon Sancho, Anthony Elanga/Lingard; Ronaldo.
