After a humiliating loss to Newcastle United, Man United finally got back to winning ways in midweek by beating Chelsea at Old Trafford.

The win means Manchester United still remain in the hunt for a top-four spot and next up, they take on AFC Bournemouth in yet another home game in the Premier League.

Despite having such a woeful season, Man United quite surprisingly find themselves just three points behind Manchester City and given that Bournemouth are sitting 15th on the table, this one should be a comfortable win for the Red Devils.

To be honest, every game is a tough contest for United this season but if they can replicate their work ethics and energy from the Chelsea game, Ten Hag’s men should not have any issues on the pitch. The last time the Cherries picked up a win vs United was way back in 2019 and given how fragile Man United have been this campaign, the away side won’t mind throwing the kitchen sink at them.

Manchester United’s team news vs Bournemouth:

Raphael Varane missed the midweek game due to a ‘sore back’ and the defender remains a doubt for the Cherries game as well. Anyways, the French central defender has fallen down the pecking order at Man United so his injury is nothing major to worry about the manager.

Luke Shaw played at left-back in the first half vs Chelsea and then moved into a centre-back role in the second half. Shaw in central defence and Reguilon at left-back looked much more stable and we think Ten Hag will go with this same formation at the weekend.

Sofyan Amrabat played his first good goal in a Man United shirt but the manager will most likely keep him on the bench to allow Kobbie Mainoo to come into midfield. Mainoo has done really well in the previous few matches plus with so many existing injuries, the manager will have to rotate wherever he gets the chance.

McTominay scored both goals on Wednesday so he will hold onto his place.

Casemiro and Christian Eriksen are ruled out but Mason Mount is edging closer to a return. The summer signing returned to training last week but a proper timeline of his comeback is still not known.

Marcus Rashford started on the bench against Chelsea and at the same time, Antony had a great game out on the right wing so it’s very hard to see the Man United manager dropping the Brazilian to bring back Rashford.

Hojlund is still looking for his first Premier League goal but the forward is doing all the right things without the ball and it’s only a matter of time before he gets his maiden league goal.

Man United predicted line up vs AFC Bournemouth:

Predicted starting line up(4-2-3-1): Onana; Dalot, Maguire, Luke Shaw, Reguilon; McTominay, Amrabat/Mainoo; Fernandes, Garnacho, Antony; Hojlund.
