Man United set to miss two key players when they face Leicester City: Cause of concern for Ole?

Man United take on Leicester City in the Premier League right after the international break and as per The Mirror, South American footballers Edinson Cavani and Fred are going to be absentees for this game.

Both the players have joined their respective national sides during the break and are expected to play all the matches in this period. This means the duo will not make it back in time for the Leicester City vs Man United game.

The report claims: “Manchester United have been rocked by a double selection blow with both Fred and Edinson Cavani set to be unavailable for the trip to Leicester City after the international break.

“Fred and Cavani have jetted off to link up with Brazil and Uruguay respectively for the next fortnight.

“The South American duo are even set to go head-to-head when their countries clash next Friday.

“And with that fixture coming just 24 hours before United resume their Premier League campaign with a trip to Leicester, boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be without the pair for the crunch clash. “

Problems for the Man United boss?

Edinson Cavani will not be badly missed since Man United now have Cristiano Ronaldo and the Portuguese will start up front against Leicester. But it’s the midfield which is going to be a cause of concern for the manager.

Fred and McTominay have been playing a double pivot in defensive midfield this season and even though they have not been great but putting Paul Pogba alongside McTominay has delivered even poorer results.

Ole tried this against Villarreal and United’s midfield was virtually non-existent in that match. But if Fred is not available for the Leicester vs Man United game then Solskjaer has no other option but to use Pogba and McTominay in central midfield and pray to the heavens.

The Man United boss also has the option of using Donny van de Beek in place of Fred but we doubt if Ole is going to do that.
