Man United seemed to have gotten their form back after back-to-back wins in the Premier League and next up they take on AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League.

The Red Devils have already secured qualification to the knockout stages of the competitions which is why Solskjaer would surely look to rest some of his first-team regulars for this match.

During their last European outing, the manager chose to use his academy lads but we don’t think he will be bold enough to do that this time around since Manchester United need to avoid defeat to secure top spot in Group L.

But having said that, the likes of Rashford, McTominay and Daniel James are not expected to start this match but they should remain on the bench in order to avoid any mishaps on Thursday.

Man United team news vs Alkmaar:

David De Gea has always made way for Sergio Romero in Europe this season and the same will happen again against Alkmaar on Thursday.

Marcos Rojo remains on the sidelines with an injury meaning Axel Tuanzebe is expected to be partnered by Phil Jones in central defence while Brandon Williams returns to the left-back spot.

Diogo Dalot would have started this match at right-back but he too is an injury doubt meaning Ashley Young will fill-up in that role.

Nemanja Matic has rarely featured for Man United but the Serbian should be named in the first XI alongside Andreas Pereira who started the Man City game on the bench.

Angel Gomes put in a fine shift during Man United’s previous Europa League game and the youngster will hopefully get a starting role against Alkmaar on Thursday.

Tahith Chong missed a sitter during the 2-1 loss vs Astana but he will get one more chance to prove himself this week.

Mason Greenwood has been mingling with the big boys this season and he will surely get the nod to start up front with the likes of Martial and Rashford being rested for the match.
