Man United take on Liverpool in the English Premier League next weekend and they will try and snatch points off of the league leaders for the second time in a row this season.

Liverpool have only dropped two points this season in the league and that has been to Manchester United but it will not be so easy this time around for Solskjaer and his men since they will be playing at Anfield.

The Old Trafford outfit are currently fifth on the league table – five points off the top-four and they have a golden chance of closing that gap with Chelsea if they can manage to beat Liverpool on their home turf.

This will be easier said than done though especially if Marcus Rashford is ruled out of the match after the injury he picked up vs Wolves in the FA Cup third-round replay in midweek.

Man United team news vs Liverpool:

Sergio Romero played in goal for Man United against Wolves but David De Gea will reprise his role come Sunday.

Harry Maguire and Lindelof have started carving a formidable partnership at the heart of the defence and the pair will once again start vs Liverpool at Anfield.

Eric Bailly and Fosu-Mensah have both started training but the pair’s still a few weeks away from being match fit.

Brandon Williams put in yet another fine shift vs Wolves and we are pretty confident that the youngster will keep his place at left-back meaning Luke Shaw will have to be content with a substitute’s role.

Fred and Matic seemed to have steadied the ship at the heart of the midfield in the absence of McTominay and Paul Pogba and the pair will now have the tough task of stopping the likes of Henderson and Wijnaldum.

Juan Mata was the star of the show for Man United during their last two wins but given his age, the Spaniard surely cannot start three games in such a short span of time.

Mata is expected to be rested as Andreas Pereira comes into the No 10 role in his place.

Daniel James made some great runs vs Wolves in midweek and the young Welshman had some good opportunities to score. He is a guaranteed starter at Anfield.

Marcus Rashford came on in the second half vs Wolves but was quickly taken off following an injury. And right now there are massive doubts over his participation this weekend.

If Rashford is ruled out then it will surely be a big blow for the Man United manager who will then have to opt for Mason Greenwood on the wing.
