Manchester City under Pep Guardiola have looked unstoppable so far this season but for a brief moment, Huddersfield thought that they might just be able to stop the juggernaut. Huddersfield took a shocking lead at the John Smith’s Stadium during the dying minutes of the first-half thanks to a deflected shot that went into the back of the net via Otamendi.

But that lead did not last long as, within minutes of the restart, Sergio Aguero made it 1-1 from the penalty spot. Then it was mostly one-way traffic as City piled on the pressure and ultimately got their winner in the 84th minute thanks to Raheem Sterling.

As a result of this victory, Pep Guardiola’s men have now gathered 37 points the first 13 games of the Premier League and no other team has managed to do that in England‘s top division so far.

Roberto Mancini’s side in 2011/12 managed to gather 35 points at the same stage of the season and then went on to win the Premier League title that season.
