Manchester United suffered a humiliating defeat at the hands of Liverpool in the Premier League this weekend and they will be itching to get things back on track when they take on Burnley in midweek.

The 2-0 loss to Liverpool means the Red Devils still remain five points behind fourth-placed Chelsea but with the Blues scheduled to take on Arsenal, United have another big chance of closing the gap for the Champions League spot.

Burnley have won just one out of their last five league matches plus Manchester United are undefeated in their last 9 home matches in the Premier League meaning they should not have to sweat too much in order to pick up all three points.

But having said that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will surely go into this match with a bit of nerve especially after the news of Marcus Rashford being ruled out for atleast six weeks with a stress fracture.

Manchester United team news vs Burnley:

Ole chose to play a three-man backline vs Liverpool but the Manchester United manager should revert back to a 4-2-3-1 formation in midweek.

Luke Shaw was one of the best performers for United at Anfield but the left-back is expected to drop to the bench meaning young Brandon Williams will once again get a start in defence.

With Ashley Young leaving for Inter Milan, Aaron Wan-Bissaka is the obvious choice at right-back but some reports claim Diogo Dalot could also get a start after the Portuguese made a substitute appearance vs Liverpool.

Fred received heaps of praise from his manager after the loss to Liverpool and Brazilian is more or less one of the first names on Ole’s teamsheet nowadays.

With Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay ruled out, the selection of Nemanja Matic alongside Fred is an absolute no brainer.

Andres Pereira was pathetic vs Liverpool and we can safely say the Brazilian will drop back to the bench in order to make way for Juan Mata who has been the source of inspiration while going forward during United’s past couple of matches.

Marcus Rashford is set to be sidelined for a couple of months maybe meaning Mason Greenwood will have to step up and grab this opportunity with both hands.

Anthony Martial missed some really good chances to score vs Liverpool but with Rashford out, the Frenchman will surely not be dropped to the bench.

Daniel James had a rather subdued game at Anfield after having played a really good game vs Wolves last week. And he much like Greenwood will also have to up his game in order for Manchester United to keep maintaining pace with the likes of Chelsea and Sheffield United.
