Liverpool will take on Bayern Munich in the Champions League Round of 16 next week at Anfield.

And the Reds certainly have a tough game on their hands.

Jurgen Klopp is battling with so many injury concerns and now it looks like Bayern will get back one of their key first team players.

Bayern boss Niko Kovac has claimed that Manuel Neuer has returned back to first-team training and the goalkeeper should be fit to take on Liverpool next week.

Manuel Neuer picked up a finger injury late January and so far the keeper has missed four games for the Bundesliga side.

“He’s got no complaints so he’s an option for Friday’s game,” coach Niko Kovac said on the club’s website(as reported).

“We’re always discussing things,

“The games he’s missed were entirely his decision. The player always has the final word, and in this case, Manu’s ready.”

“Sven Ulreich always has to be ready just in case,

“He needs to stay on top of his game and he’s always there when we need him.

“We’ll be prepared for everything on Friday. We need to find the right solutions and make the right decisions. The aim is obviously to win the game and ideally keep a clean sheet in the process.”

The return of Manuel Neuer will most certainly be a huge boost for Bayern Munich given the German No 1 could play a key role in stopping the likes of Mo Salah and Sadio Mane.

But Manuel Neuer isn’t the only player who has returned back to training since the duo of Mats Hummels and Robert Lewandowski have also reported back.
