Current Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri’s job is under threat as many pundits believe that the Italian will receive the sack very soon.

Sarri has failed to inspire Chelsea ever since he took charge and right now the Blues sit sixth on the league table.

Since the start of 2019, Chelsea have played in eight games and the Stamford Bridge outfit have lost four of them.

And to make matters worse, in these four defeats Maurizio Sarri’s men have conceded 123 goals.

So with rumours of Sarri leaving the club a number of managers have been linked with the Chelsea job and one of them was Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone.

Chelsea boss Roman Abramovich has been a long term admirer of the Argentine and he has tried to lure Diego Simeone out of Spain on a couple of occasions.

But each time the manager has chosen to commit his future to the La Liga side and this time is no different.

Atletico Madrid have revealed that Diego Simeone has signed a new deal with the club which will keep him with Atletico until 2022.

This is most certainly a huge setback for Chelsea who were planning to make contact with Diego Simeone in regards for the next season if Sarri was unable to change the club’s fate.

Apart from Simeone, Zinedine Zidane has also been linked with the Chelsea job and many experts believe that since Diego Simeone has signed a new deal with Atletico, Zidane is now the top priority for the club.
