Marc-Andre ter Stegen has signed a new contract that will keep him at Barcelona until 2022.
The 25-year-old German shot-stopper has put pen to paper and has committed his future to the Catalan club. The club made the announcement of Ter Stegen’s signing through their social media profiles.
Barcelona signed the then promising youngster after both Valdes and Jose Pinto left the club in 2014. The former Monchengladbach player joined Barcelona for a fee somewhere in the region of 10 million pounds. But the buyout clause was set at 63.6 million pounds.

Ter Stegen who has been at the Catalan club for three seasons now has appeared in 93 competitive games for them. During the first two season, he was more or less a second choice keeper after Claudio Bravo. But since Bravo’s departure to Man City last summer, Ter Stegen has emerged as the new number one.

While rivals Real Madrid are in pursuit of David De Gea to solidify their number 1 spot, it looks as if Barcelona have already sorted out that area.
