Manchester United suffered their second defeat to Wolves in a matter of weeks this time in the Premier League.
The Reds were on the top ever since the match started and were duly rewarded with a goal courtesy of McTominay pretty early on in the match.
But soon, Wolves equalised and from then onwards, it was all the home side.
Ashley Young was sent off in the second half which meant Man United have to try and force a winner with just 10 men. And as it often happens, Wolves were able to pick up a winner thanks to an own goal from Chris Smalling.
But all throughout the match, every Man United fan was thinking why Marcus Rashford was absent from the match.
Before the game started some reports had claimed that the England international was out of the game due to an illness but Solskjaer confirmed that was not the case.
Actually, Marcus Rashford had picked up an ankle injury which forced him to miss the game vs Wolves.
“Yeah, he got a knock again, but it’s a different ankle, it’s not the same ankle luckily,” the manager said.
“He’ll be sorely missed today. Hopefully, Rom [Lukaku] can do the job though.
“We tried to get him [Marcus] fit but he didn’t make it so, hopefully, we can mend him for the next game.”
Now it remains to be seen when will Marcus Rashford actually be fit and whether this fresh injury forces him to miss the Champions League clash vs Barcelona next week.
If the England international does remain an absentee for the Champions League quarter-final clash then it will once again be Romelu Lukaku who will start up front but without Marcus Rashford, Solskjaer would not really have a fall-back on the bench.
