Marcus Rashford Man United

Man United forward Marcus Rashford picked up a groin strain during the club’s 2-0 loss to West Ham United and the initial reports do not look good.

The forward was just going through the motions during the first half but in the second half, the England international seemed to have upped his game only to be taken off in the 61st minute of the match.

Ole Solskjaer provided an update on the player’s injury and if we try and read in between the lines then Marcus Rashford should be unavailable for the Man United vs Arsenal clash.

Man United take on Arsenal next Monday in the Premier League and if the initial reports aren’t good then there’s no way the manager will risk using him.

But while Marcus Rashford might miss out on the high-profile clash, the duo of Mason Greenwood and Anthony Martial be fit in time to feature in the Man United vs Arsenal clash.

The manager said(as reported): “Probably out for a little while.

“We have got to scan him tomorrow. He felt his groin. I can update you later when I know a little more.

“It is just one of these moments, we’ve had historically loads of centre-backs the last few years struggling with injuries when we’ve come here.

“Carrick played centre-back, Darren Fletcher played, at the moment it is strikers.

“Hopefully Mason and Anthony [Martial] back for definitely Arsenal, and hopefully one for Rochdale.”

Verdict:

The injury to Marcus Rashford might actually be a blessing in disguise for the manager since the forward had been out of form for the past couple of matches. But without Anthony Martial to play upfront, Ole had no other option but to play Rashford upfront.

Now that he is out injured and Martial is set to return, the Frenchman will be the obvious choice upfront while Mason Greenwood will come off the bench if needed in the second half.
