Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has finally finished his gardening leave meaning he is now free to join a new club.

Up until now, the 48-year-old was still receiving a full salary from Tottenham but Daniel Levy can finally get him off the payroll and put that money to better use.

Mauricio Pochettino was sacked in November of last year and has been out of action since then. But his availability in the market is sure to feed the interest of a number of big Premier League clubs.

Manchester United have long been linked with a move for the Argentine while recent rumours have suggested that Newcastle United might look to rope him in if their Saudi-backed takeover is completed in time.

Man United or NUFC: Where will Mauricio Pochettino end up?

So as things stand, Man United and the Magpies are the two clubs which are at the forefront of the queue but according to Danny Rose, Mauricio Pochettino could be on his way to Old Trafford.

When asked as to where Poch will end up, Rose said, as quoted by Standard: “Eventually United. Without a doubt, without a doubt,”

“[That intensity] they all got it from Bielsa. I know Poch, he idolises Bielsa. They all got that work ethic from him. Even under Poch, he had a different culture to the British. It wasn’t that he didn’t understand it…you know the British like to have a drink, it was just something that he couldn’t get his head around.

“He wasn’t willing to compromise on that either. Even after we beat Ajax in the Champions League semi-final and it was obviously the biggest night of our careers. On the flight home, we weren’t allowed a drink.

“Whatever I do after football without a doubt I’d want to have Pochettino’s work ethic. He’s obsessed with football and his way of life is so relative to football.”

If Rose had made it this claim a couple of months ago, we might have agreed with him but right now, there’s no way Ed Woodward will part ways with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Finally, Manchester United seem to be walking in the right path after so many years of mediocrity and over the last two transfer windows, Solskjaer has managed to make all the right signings. Ole is clearly building a dynasty at OT and right now the management are willing to put their trust on the Norwegian.

So this naturally means, if the new bosses at Newcastle United can convince Mauricio Pochettino then the Argentinian will not hesitate to start his own project at St James’ Park.

At Spurs, Poch managed to work wonders with a meagre transfer budget and many think he can do even better if he is given the opportunity to work with the superstars of world football.
