MCFC winger Riyad Mahrez has reportedly agreed on a deal to join the Saudi Pro League this summer but he’s currently waiting for Pep Guardiola to make a decision.

The Algerian international joined Man City in 2018 and he’s had a trophy-laden career so far at the Etihad Stadium. So far, he’s played 236 games for MCFC, scoring 78 and assisting 59 goals.

His contract with City expires in 2025 but as per the rumours, the winger has already agreed to join the Saudi top division for a reported salary package of €25 million per year.

Several big names from Europe are heading to the Middle East this summer and it looks like Riyad Mahrez is eager to join the bandwagon. He’s told Manchester City about his desire to leave but MCFC is yet to receive any form of official offer from one of the Pro League clubs.

No team has been named yet but the gossip is that Mahrez could be heading to Al-Ahli.

Will the MCFC manager allow Mahrez to leave?

The transfer experts are suggesting Pep Guardiola wants to sign a wide attacker this summer but to date, the club has not been linked to any major wingers.

City have shown interest in Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and AC Milan’s Rafael Leao but both these deals are near impossible these two have massive price tags on their shoulders.

This season, Bernardo Silva was the right-sided wide attacker for MCFC while Riyad Mahrez warmed the benches but Silva could also leave in the coming weeks which is why the City boss will not want to lose both Silva and Mahrez in the same window.

The 32-year-old is hoping that City will allow him to leave and while the club are yet to make up their mind, we strongly feel Guardiola will not let him move out.

The MCFC manager is urging his club’s management to hold onto Bernardo Silva but he fears the Portuguese will leave eventually in which case Mahrez will have to spend another year at the Etihad Stadium.

Silva, Foden and Julian Alvarez have the capability of playing wide right but on paper, Riyad Mahrez is the only right winger in the Manchester City squad right now. Until the club signs at least one new winger, the Algerian will have to stay put.
