Arsenal brought in Mikel Arteta as their new manager back in December and since then, the former Gunners player has done a lot to improve the side.

While the players seem to have endorsed the new boss and his vision but that positivity and right attitude has not been able to bring in the necessary wins in matches forcing the Gunners to remain 10th on the Premier League table.

Part of the problem lies with the numerous number of injuries which Mikel Arteta has had to deal with in such a short span of time and the manager has admitted it’s getting increasingly difficult for him to make long-term plans for the club.

Talking about his long-term plannings, the Arsenal boss said: “Very difficult. Because I like everything very planned and detailed and it goes a little bit against my principles, but we have to adapt in that sense again.

“I have very clear ideas in terms of what I would like to do in terms of the squad, in terms of certain individuals and how we can improve the team, but obviously the case or scenario [is something] we don’t know.

“It’s going to depend on what we do this season and what happened in the last few seasons is going to have a big impact as well.

“I have to manage the resources that I have at the moment, and they are a big resource at the moment.

“It’s not just because they are young and they can be good because they are already very good. Some of them can be phenomenal.

“But they can only be phenomenal or very good if they play in a consistent way and we get them surrounded with good coaching, with good club culture and also with good players around them. We have to support them. I’m ready to support them and they responded.”

A large of pundits and Arsenal legends have urged the management to give Mikel Arteta an ample amount of time so that he can reshape the squad in his image. But for that to happen, Arsenal will have to secure a Champions League qualification asap so that the manager can afford to bring in his priority signings.

But if they keep playing in the Europa League, then players like Aubameyang and Lacazette will move out sooner or later and it will grow increasingly tough for Mikel Arteta to rebuild the perished giant.
